Hull Geological Society
I must begin my
report by offering members my sincere apologies for not being able, because of
teaching commitments to attend the meetings during this winter session. My
gratitude and thanks are due to Mrs Rogers, Mr Emery and Mr Horne who have
variously substituted for me at different meetings.
During this year we
appear to have attained a membership of about 70.
In spite of an added
complication this session relating to the presence of a member of staff when we
meet we have, due to the kindness and cooperation of the Department been able to
continue successfully with our programme. Our thanks therefore are due to them
for continuing to act as hosts to our meetings. I would like to thank all those
who have contributed to the programme – Dr Ford, Mr David, Prof Dunham, Dr
Brasier and our own members who contributed to the Members’ Evening.
I remains for me to
thank the retiring President, Treasurer and members of the Committee for their
support during the year. We are also indebted to Mrs Rogers for assistance with
duplication and in particular in particular for providing posters, also again,
to advertise our meetings in local schools and colleges.
