- This is from Bessingby; although I think the level is below Nafferton Quarry I
cannot prove it; it could be above Nafferton or the equivalent of part of
Nafferton (cf
Whitham 1994).
HAR
- There is no hard evidence to give an accurate level for this exposure at
present, it is somewhere bertween level 145 and 165.
All samples
from levels between 200 and 400 are from coastal
exposures and therefore may be contaminated
with sea water.
Some samples are weathered - it can be very
difficult to collect a fresh sample from a thin band from a disused quarry or a
coastal exposure below the high tide line. Samples from Enthorpe (EN) and
Selwicks Bay (SEL) are probably the worst.
