Sunday 15th June 2003 - joint field meeting with the Huddersfield Geology Group in the Market Weighton area, leader Mike Horne. We will visit South Cave Station Quarry SSSI to see the Kellaways Rock and Kellaways Sands; Sands Top Quarry to study the Cave Oolite, Rifle Butts SSSI to see the Jurassic-Cretaceous unconformity; walk along the Hudson Way to Kiplingcotes Nature Reserve; if time permits we will visit the Arras Chalk Pit.

Monday 14th July 2003 - evening field visit to Sands Top Quarry, Newbald, led by Mike Horne, to study Cave Oolite and possible Quaternary karst features.

Sunday 3rd May 2009 - Threshfield (public field meeting) led by Ian and Mary Heppenstall. Part of Yorkshire Geology Month.  The walk lasts 5 1/2 hours. Moderately strenuous, some steep slopes and stiles and slippery in places. The parish of Threshfield has within its boundary a number of mineral resources. Starting with a quarry once worked for Magnesian Limestone we proceed along the line of the North Craven Fault to a calcium carbonate quarry with a draw kiln nearby and then to some old lead workings. Some stone buildings are passed en route. We then cross Threshfield Moor where peat and sandstone were once worked, finally looking at some old coal workings before returning to the start point.
